BC Championships Jamboree
Monday, July 19, 2010 at 01:08PM For most of our athletes, the Provincial championships are the ultimate track meet of the year, and if they get their training timed just right maybe they can perform at their best. I am pleased to report that most of our athletes did just that, set a PB over the week-end and a few of them have hopes of making team B.C. and taking a trip to Ottawa to compete at the Legion Nationals in August.

Expected Team BC selections and provincial champions:
Jake Bruchet, winner in standard of 6:07 in the 2000M Steeplechase – Juvenile.
Max Hanna, winner in non-standard 48M, but previously achieved Javelin standard 52M – Midget 15.
Hopeful of selection:
Alison Williams, non-winner in standard of 2:14.55 at 800M – Midget 15.
Vanessa Sjoberg, non-winner in standard of 56.22s at 400M – Juvenile.
Meghan Palesch, non-winner in standard of 28.55s at 200M Hurdles – Midget 15.
Meghan also non-winner in 300M, but previously made standard in 400M conversion.
Some hope for selection:
Jack Williams, non-winner (3rd) in standard of 1:55.90 at 800M.
Deon Clifford, non-winner (2nd) in 99.7% of standard in 6:10 at 2000M Steeplechase – Juvenile.
Ryan Sommer, non-winner (3rd) in standard of 46.97M in Discus.

Gurjit Rajput – 5000M
Adam Paul-Morris – 400M
