Sam Walkow and Luc Bruchet will represent Canada at Worlds

31 degrees and 62% humidity are not typical Canadian cross country conditions. But it did not prevent our Junior athletes from winning the North American, Central American and Caribbean championship in Mount Irvine, Tobago.

BC athletes made up a quarter of the team. In the 6K Junior Men’s race, Luc Bruchet was 8th overall and 4th Canadian in 19:16.3. Dylan Haight was one place behind in 19:19.8. And in the 4K Junior Women’s race, Sam Walkow finished 15th overall and 6th Canadian in 14:57.4.

The teams now go on to the World Cross Country Championships on March 28 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
